What herbs help you sleep?

What herbs help you sleep?

What herbs help you sleep?

We have a capsule called The Veil, which has been helping to create a calm night of sleep for its fans for many years. They are chosen to help you find a relaxed state of mind and aid sleep.

Taking a couple of capsules in the early evening has been enough to help me sleep. Many of our customers over the years have described how this capsule has helped them.

Here’s why herbalists have chosen these herbs for many years

Valerian: Valerian root has been used for centuries to promote relaxation and improve sleep quality. It contains compounds that increase the levels of a neurotransmitter called gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the brain, which helps calm the nervous system and promote sleep.

Passionflower: Passionflower is often used to treat anxiety and insomnia because it has a  calming effect.  It contains compounds that increase the levels of GABA in the brain. Like valerian, it can help to induce relaxation and improve sleep.

California Poppy: California poppy is a gentle sedative herb chosen to promote relaxation and relieve tension. It contains alkaloids and flavonoids with mild sedative properties. This makes it a useful herb for improving sleep quality without causing grogginess the next day.

The way we blend these herbs is to give you maximum effect

Hops: Hops, the same herb used in brewing beer, have soothing properties and may improve sleep. It contains a compound called methyl butanol, which acts as a mild sedative and helps to calm the nervous system.  This makes it easier to fall asleep.

Lavender: Lavender is widely known for its soothing aroma, first used centuries ago to promote relaxation and sleep. The scent of lavender has been shown to reduce anxiety and stress levels, helping to calm the mind and prepare the body for sleep. Additionally, lavender contains compounds like linalool and linalyl acetate, which have sedative effects to help improve sleep quality.

German Chamomile: German chamomile is renowned for its calming and relaxing properties. It is a popular choice for promoting sleep and easing insomnia. It contains compounds like apigenin, which have sedative effects and can help reduce anxiety and promote relaxation. German chamomile is often consumed as a tea, which can help soothe the nervous system and prepare the body for sleep. Additionally, German chamomile has anti-inflammatory properties to ease tension and discomfort. Try steeping dried chamomile flowers in hot water to make a soothing tea and sip before bedtime to help relax your mind and body.
